The Bachelor of English and Creative Industries (SS) at SCU are intended to produce graduates who would like to become entrepreneurs in creative industries, creative program designers, and creative writers. This program will equip graduates with the English language skills, knowledge to sharpen students’ creative skills such as editing, publishing, pitching, animation, videography, and the like. Upon the completion of the program, you will hone your talents and competencies as entrepreneurs in creative industries, creative program designers, and creative writers as well as improve your English proficiency.
As you study in the center of a vibrant community, you will sharpen you creative sides while working with a variety of experienced, well-known experts. Along with encouraging peers and tutors who will challenge you to follow your creative instincts and experiment with content creating skills, you’ll also learn how to provide and receive constructive criticism of any work you produced. The emphasis on student choice through a large selection of optional modules lets you pursue your interests.
As a commitment to whole-person education, students in this program are required take a character education courses through general education streams. These courses are created to equip students to be graduates who have good people’s skills, understand their position in the global world, hold respects towards own cultures and other people’s cultures, possess sophisticated digital knowledge in order to prepare for the 21st century skills. In this program, you are required to take activities to open your opportunities for International exposures such as presenting in International Conferences, taking part in international community service or student exchange programs.
This program should be successfully completed in order to meet the accreditation requirements stipulated by the English Department professional associations. Graduates of this program can choose to attend graduate school to pursue studies in related fields such as language, cultural studies, international business, communication, digital marketing, or public relations.
